None are using Linux, which is why I want to introduce Linux Mint to them i.e. I am in the same room as them and they are all running different systems- Windows/MacBooks/Chromebooks. recommend remmina, but honestly I have never set up something like this. That would be ideal, but assuming the kids are remote from you. For simple demonstration purposes would 16GB allow maybe 9 simultaneous remote sessions?Ĭode: Select all I'm not sure whether Teamviewer, NoMachine, or Any Desk can proved a solution here especially as the teenagers should ideally not have to install any new software to their machines. Is there an easier/better method (if possible avoiding 3rd party software)?ģ. Can anyone suggest whether this should now work with MATE (or even XFCE or LMDE)?Ģ. (I use Teamviewer occasionally for private use.)ġ. I'm not sure whether Teamviewer, NoMachine, or Any Desk can proved a solution here especially as the teenagers should ideally not have to install any new software to their machines. Since then LM seems to have changed something making this more difficult: viewtopic.php?t=333890. It seemed this should be possible to do this using xRDP except the MATE desktop seemed to cause difficulties in an earlier version: The host machine has an Intel i7-3770 CPU and 16GB RAM. If possible, they should be able to access the machine using the default terminal programs installed on their machines e.g. I would like to demonstrate LM to a group of teenagers on a old-ish desktop as host.
